Farmhouse
PODERE
CASALONE is a very old farmhouse, recently
restructured by our family with great care, in full
respect of the typical Tuscan architectural style.
It is situated in one of the most fascinating areas
in the Tuscan countryside. The farm is located on a
green hill called MONTALBANO, surrounded by olive
groves, vineyeards and woods.

Near
the farmhouse you can see a barn. At the
ground floor of the barn you will find the
reception and a room where you can taste and
buy our products. We produce a very
good extravirgin olive oil, sheep’s milk
cheese and an excellent “ricotta”. We
cultivate olive groves that are typical of
the Tuscan area (especially
“moraiolo”, “frantoio”, “leccino”,
“pendolino”, “rossellino”) and we
have a small flock.
Inside the farm you can find a lot of ruins
of the
very ancient wall that was
called
“Barco Reale Mediceo”. In
the past this wall was the border of the
game-reserve of the famous Medici
family, Gran Dukes of Tuscany untill the
beginning of the eighteenth century and
considered as a very important family during
the Renaissance.
